And the countdown continues...
6. CANVAS CORP. CHALKBOARD TAGS -
As scrapbooking continues to morph and expand into other areas like home decor and altered items, there undoubtedly will be existing companies that will turn their focus to the scrapbooking world. So seems to be the recent addition of Canvas Corp. at the last few CHA's. Last year we fell for their memo boards which we bought and sold specifically at Mega Meet. This year we fell head over heals for their fun new embellishments - including sets of these cute chalkboard tags, mini Kraft bags, and more! Don't these chalkboard tags just scream "school"?????
7. THE GIRLS' PAPERIE KITCH LINE
There was a return to vintage at this year's show and The Girls' Paperie was no exception. We found the new Kitch line to be reminiscent of summers on the lake, picking fresh blueberries, sitting with an old quilt folded over the front porch swing. From the light florals to the ever so popular pennant banners, this line is fresh and the perfect backdrop to your next mini album!
8. LITTLE YELLOW BICYCLE SWEET SUMMERTIME -
We had a really hard time deciding on our big summer themed kit. There was all the typical summer lines but we wanted something a little different and a little more generic. And we finally decided on Sweet Summertime from Little Yellow Bicycle. The booth tour was done by the designer herself so it was fun to hear what her inspiration was for designing this line. She helped us decided among the many, many different types of embellishments to make this kit top notched. We can't wait to share what we have planned with it! We loved the bright blues, yellows and reds and especially in the watermelon and lemon designs!
9. FANCY PANTS BRAG BOOK / BANNER BOOKS / FILTER FLOWERS
There always seems to be that one company that adds a bit of "surprise and delight" to CHA. This year were were surprised and delighted by Fancy Pants new additions to their Artist Edition.
Starting with the new Brag Book - this is a coil bound journal that contains journaling pages, photo pages and black pocket pages. We loved the bigger size and the number of pages included in this journal like book. We see it being perfect for recording travel details for a big trip like a European vacation or an African Safari or a Cruise. The possibilities are just about endless.
We also liked the new Filter Flowers - pre-cut flower shapes made from a material similar to coffee filters - yep that's right - COFFEE FILTERS! But they make adorable rolled flowers that then can be sprayed with Glimmer Mist.
Finally were these chipboard "banners" that we figured would make fun mini albums - don't you think so?
10. DOODLEBUG BULK BUTTONS - OODLES
Candy's fantasy from last CHA continued this year when Doodlebug Designs introduced her favorite buttons in BULK! We can see these little gems showing up in a future ScrapScription kit can't you? That's if we can pry the containers away from Candy's hot little hands. As if the button cards they premiered last time weren't enough now we get 25 - 50 of each button in these fun bulk tubes! Thank you Doodlebug!!
NEW KID ON THE BLOCK - SIMPLE STORIES
As we made our way down to the New Exhibitors section of the Convention Center, we had just a few stops to make. And the first one was Simple Stories. Some of you may be familiar with their home consultant side of the business called Memory Works. But recently they have moved into digital and now paper scrapbooking. If you like the distressed look you are going to love these lines! The thing we liked the most was while having the distressed look the colors in these lines are still so vibrant. We predict very good things for this company in the future and ScrapScription will be right there along for the ride.
SURPRISE OF THE SHOW - COSMO CRICKET
We always like to pick some fun categories for the end of our top ten list. And this year we had not only the New Kid on the Block winner but also wanted to share our biggest surprise of the show. And we both agreed it was Cosmo Cricket. We were so excited to see them back to the Cosmo we were use to seeing. With the launch of three new lines we loved the graphic edge that these lines brought to the show. Even better was the way they scaled down their chipboard pieces and added some fun new doily embellishments. Each line was prettier than the other. So much to choose from!
And another fun embellishment debuted at CHA by Cosmo Cricket were GLUBERS. These are best described as huge oversized glue dots. But they are perfect for making all types of hand made flowers. Wouldn't these be fun to use with the Fancy Pant's Filter Flowers????
