Yesterday we released two new kits on the ScrapScription web site. The first was our August ScrapScriber kit called ROAD TRIP. This is an adorable white chipboard album from Doodlebug Designs and features Doodlebug's On the Go product line done in fun primary colors and patterns. Perfect for documenting that next trip on the wide open road - either far away or near!
Second is our much anticipated new BABY album release called WELCOME BABY. We have again turned to our favorite album maker - We R' Memory Keepers for this gorgeous linen cloth album done in a beautiful warm golden yellow color. Inside are 10 page protectors in 8x8 that help you track all the wonderful moments of having a new little one in your family. What's great about this album is all of the pages are gender neutral and will work for either a boy or girl. Additionally, there are two die cut sheets included with each kit that allow you to customize one page specifically to a boy or girl and you get both versions in the kit! So even if you aren't sure yet if you're expecting a little boy or little girl - this kit will work for you! This kit makes a great baby shower gift!!!

So, in our last kit release post, we started our official CHA Top Ten countdown with our first 5 favorites. We finish out our list this time around with the final 5 favorites and also our pick for "Surprise of the Show"!
Here we go!
6. THE GIRLS PAPERIE - TINSEL & TWIG
We knew going into the show that we wanted to find a good "traditional" Christmas line featuring true red and green. We've seen a lot of fun twists in the past on Christmas with pinks & turquoise but we wanted to go "old school" with at least one holiday album and after weighing a few options (red/green proved to be a popular choice by a number of manufacturers this year) we couldn't resist Margie's Tinsel & Twig line.
We especially loved the bits of tinsel and fun paper embellishments with this line. And the buttons! And those amazing Sticker Books full of TONS of adorable stickers! Almost enough for multiple projects!
So stay tuned for our traditional holiday release in early December!
7. DOODLEBUG DESIGNS BUTTON CARDS
I can't go without commenting on the pure excitement our own Candy Carpenter enjoyed while taking in the newest buttons from Doodlebug. I quickly called this spot in the show "Candy's Mecca". If she could have, I think she may have just sat in front of that display for hours as the images of bright, creamy, colorful shaped buttons filled her head. ;)
But I think I'd have to agree that these buttons were just too yummy for words. We loved the colors and the shapes especially! Truly can see these as a ScrapScription kit staple someday!
8. GRAPHIC 45 STAPLES - KRAFT EMBELLISHMENTS
Vintage was back in a big way at this show. And nothing says vintage like Graphic 45. They are KNOWN for their interesting lines featuring antique and vintage images and clip art. While they have stuck to mainly paper in the past, this year they branched out into the world of embellishments and introduced a "staple" line featuring kraft papers in cool shapes and sizes. We especially loved the printed flowers and buttons and policy envelopes. Again, more yummy goodness to add to ScrapScription goodie bags!
We say "keep up the good work" Graphic 45! We love the kind of items that work for all types of projects!
9. JILLIBEAN SOUP'S ATOMIC SOUP
Just when you think you've seen every "theme" imaginable in a paper line - someone comes along and hits one out of the park! This time it was Jillibean Soup and their newest line called Atomic Soup.
We have the pleasure of knowing Jill from Jillibean personally as she is headquartered here in Central Ohio. In fact, Lori is a member of their in-house design team and has been designing sample mini albums for Jillibean's CHA booth for the past three shows. So we were especially excited to see such a unique and adorable play on the "chemistry" theme in this Atomic Soup line. A little bit of "inside info" - Jill's background is in the chemistry field - so this line is near and dear to her heart and we think she really picked a winner!
We love the addition of the "themed" Journaling Sprouts that come with each collection, the adorable cardstock stickers and especially the new pins called "sugar picks" that coordinate with each line.
Be on the lookout for some Atomic Soup coming your way this fall!
10. PUNKY SPROUTS NEW MIXED MEDIA ALBUM DESIGNS
Punky Sprouts hit our top ten list at the last show and we have had the pleasure of featuring a number of their mixed media albums in ScrapScription kits ever since. Most recently we used their Punk n' Circumstance album for the Destinations travel album and we are pretty sure it was one of the reasons it sold out so quickly. Everyone LOVES the mixture of acrylic, chipboard and canvas that these albums bring to the table.
But we couldn't resist listing them for a second year in a row as they have continued to release new versions of their mixed media albums that we just love! And they have added a new type of medium to many of their albums that again gets our heart beating pitter patt - CORRUGATED CARDBOARD! Can you say yummy???!!!
And we were over the moon excited with their newest "embellishments" featuring left over pieces of their canvas - the canvas flowers and the canvas banners! AMAZING! The canvas flowers are absolutely divine when they get rolled and formed into beautiful 3-D flowers - perfect for an album cover or home decor project!
AND NOW...OUR "SURPRISE" OF THE SHOW - TERESA COLLINS' FREESTYLE
Every show there is one thing that just really takes you by surprise. Many times it is something that you've seen online prior to the show and you think "yeah...that's okay but it just doesn't especially do it for me...." You know that feeling right? For whatever reason it doesn't speak to you in the same way other product lines do or it may not necessarily be your style or colors.
Well, being a HUGE Teresa Collins fan and falling in love with her new releases - Giving Thanks, Celebrate and Noel JUST TO NAME A FEW!....I'd have to say that both Candy and Lori were not as excited about Teresa's FREESTYLE line.
CAN WE TELL YOU HOW WRONG WE WERE??????
It hit us on Day Two that this line was actually perfect for a theme we had been trying to fill for awhile - PRINCESS. Now I'll be the first to admit that I am not a typical "pink girly girl" kinda person. And trying to find something for a "princess" theme was already going to be a bit of an uphill battle as we really didn't want a cutesy-cute-in your face-princess kind of look. We wanted more from our "princess" theme. And Teresa's FREESTYLE line completely fit the bill! The colors and patterns and textures are so much more vibrant in person and we love the versatility this product line gives to our "princess" theme. We can see it working for so many different takes from baby princess to teen princess to mommy princess. Fun fun patterns from the zebra print to the crowns. This line has it all and we were completely surprised and delighted with what it had to offer!
