Note: These will normally be posted each Sunday, however, my post was stuck in cyber space. Oy!
I love the start of a new year. I like planning on what I want to accomplish for the next 12 months and it almost always includes some type of cleaning or organization project. Are there any other uber organizers out there? If so, you will enjoy our new series 12 Weeks to Organizing Your Scrapbook Stash in 2012.
The first week in our series will focus on ribbon. We love it and we gotta have it…a LOT of it. But what the heck do we do with all those mountains of glorious fibers? If you’re like me you have reorganized your ribbon a dozen times from zip lock baggies, to spools, to fancy boxes and nothing seems to stick for very long. One thing I know is I like to have my ribbon sorted by color. My ribbon is currently sorted by color and stored on rings.
This is what it should look like. Isn’t it purdy?
However, mine is a hot mess because it gets used A LOT and this is what it actually looks like:
My ribbon has been organized like this for about two years and probably the longest I’ve had anything organized. I like it because it’s very portable. I can grab a specific ring color or just take the whole shebang with me to a crop. See how portable it is? LOL! I’m such a dork.
You can get these ribbon storage cards at www.ribbonring.com. I’m too cheap or perhaps too lazy to order them and just made my own with a blank plastic stencil I had on hand and my craft knife.
There are hundreds of ideas on the Internet. Just Google “ribbon storage ideas” and you will find dozens of ideas to adapt into your work space. Here are some of my favorite ribbon storage ideas I stumbled across. Click on the photos for detailed info.
We want to hear from you. How do you currently store your ribbon? Is it working for you? Do you need an organizational change for 2012? Feel free to send us before and after photos on your ribbon storage organization.

I use a ribbon rack for all my rolled ribbon. I found it on Etsy, and it's awesome! (and really cute!) They have different sizes, a couple that fit right into your crop bag. I just love it when I find just the right thing to help me organize my most favorite products! Here is the link so you can go check it out http://www.etsy.com/listing/88788605/painted-large-ribbon-storage-rack. There are also a few other really cool organizational goodies for all those other scrapbook "collectables".
