They come in all shapes and sizes, a rainbow of colors and about as many types, textures and styles as you can imagine. Scrapbooking would not be the same without flowers! Flowers are not just for girls anymore, either. I have two boys and they've gotten used to seeing flowers on their layouts over the years.
I love flowers because they are so easy to incorporate onto a layout, card or project. Flowers easily fill up an empty space and provide depth, texture and interest to any project.
The problem with flowers is we tend to collect them.....a lot of them! You can never have too many flowers, right? They can easily multiply when you aren't looking. So, what to do with those delightful blooms when we bring them home? It's important to keep your flowers well organized or you can easily over purchase if you don't know what you have on hand. Some people like to keep flowers in their orignal packaging. Some like to store them in zip lock baggies or other organization products on the market.
I prefer to store my flowers in glass jars.
I found a this set of glass canisters at Target for $20 and I knew they would be perfect for storing my flowers. I love seeing them sitting on my scrappy desk and they are easily accessible. The tall square jar I found at a garage sale for $1 (score!). The remainder of my flowers are in zip lock baggies and stored with my other embellishments (more on those later in the series).
Here are some other great storage ideas. Click on the photo to go directly to the web page to learn more.
