“In 2006, I began a tradition of choosing one word for myself each January - a word that I can focus on, meditate on, and reflect upon as I go about my daily life. My words have included play, peace, vitality, nurture, light, and story. These words have each become a part of my life in one way or another. They've been imbedded into who I am, and into who I'm becoming. They've been what I've needed (and didn't know I needed). They've helped me to breathe deeper, to see clearer, and to grow.”
Each month you'll receive an email and an invitation to visit the One Little Word classroom. Inside the classroom, you'll find a gentle reminder message, encouragement to refocus, and a simple creative or writing project to complete, related to your word. At the end of the year you'll have an album that celebrates and honors your word - making it that much more concrete and visible in your life.

Take a minute to
read the rest of the description and listen to Ali’s
audio file explaining the process of the class.
My word for 2012 will be Forgiveness. I need to practice it more often - for myself and for others. I think the whole world needs to practice it too.
Thanks for the chance to win!

Persistence, I think. I have loved having a OLW the past few years. Then some of the good habits I had created for myself slipped by the wayside. This year I want to be persistent and keep them going! Thanks for the chance!

I would love a spot in Ali’s class and it is just not in our budget for me to be able to. I have decided that 2012 is going to be a better year than the last several. It has to be! I do believe that 2011 has been the hardest of my life. Lost my mom, lost my brother 3 months later, oldest daughter got married and moving to another state next year, found a lump in a gland under my ear (all ok), youngest daughter got engaged and getting married next year when she will move 5 hours away, husband was fired in Oct (he was a subcontractor, no unemployment, no money since he was let go) and so much more. I am worn out!!! Not so sure what my word for 2012 would be. Maybe renew, simplify, enjoy, or if things do not change: CRAZY. Thanks so much for the chance to win a spot.

Actually, I have 2 words that I will endeavor to keep in my heart this coming year(and always, truth be told). Preserve and Persevere. With everything that is going on around us these days, I believe that these 2 words are very important to use together. First,Preserve all that is important to us; Family,Faith, Friends, Home, Pets etc. And Persevere to do this amidst the ever present list of obstacles, discouragement, opposition and negative influences.

I have been reflecting a lot about this past year which has brought about so much wonderful change in my life. I never thought at age 60 that i could find such new paths in my journey. I met some challenges with a new-found strength and conviction. Having achieved several defining changes, i now feel the need to embrace them and thrive. My word is THRIVE - I am going to allow myself to nurture myself and thrive. I would love to do a project around this word. Thanks for the chance. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I would love to try this online class. I think my word might be declutter. I have already made a very good effort this month of decluttering my seasonal decor. 11 yrs ago I decluttered and began a great journey, which led me to a new state. Need to do it again. Thx for the chance.
